The
Scene
The Center opened in 1996 with Game 1 of the World Cup Hockey
Finals. Since then, ice shows both fierce and delicate have
graced the arena's floor, from Flyers home games to regular Ice
Capade performances. Pat Croce's 76ers play there, as do the
Wings, the city's scrappy major league lacrosse team.
The Experience
The FUC's much-heralded sound and light system has made the
center the city's premier venue for big-ticket shows, like the
very expensive Republican National Convention in August 2000.
Other modern stadium luxuries, like a cigar lounge, microbrewery
and luxury boxes, delight patrons--and make the Phillies and
Eagles, who are still playing at the Vet, green with envy. |
